Ingredients for steamed bread: 400g flour, 4 eggs, half a small bowl of white sugar, half a small bowl of corn oil, 4g yeast, a little honey, a little raisins, and sesame seeds.
Method:
Step 1: Mix flour, yeast, and sugar, then add eggs and corn oil (a quarter bowl) to form a dough. Accidentally added an extra egg, which made the flour too thin and not form a dough, so I added more flour.
Step 2: Knead for about 15 minutes until a membrane forms, then let it rise. It was too sticky to handle, so I couldn’t take a photo.
Step 3: After the dough has risen,
Step 4: Knead for a while to release air, then divide into smaller portions. I kneaded raisins into the dough (the dough was quite large due to the excess flour).
Step 5: Grease the inner pot of the rice cooker, dip the bottom of the dough in honey, and place it in the pot for a second rise (at least half an hour).
Step 6: After the dough has risen, brush with egg yolk liquid and sprinkle with sesame seeds. If not using a rice cooker, replace with a stainless steel bowl, follow the same steps, cover with plastic wrap, and steam over water for 40 minutes.
Step 7: Use the cake setting on the rice cooker. Once done, brush the surface with honey (optional).
Cooking tips for steamed bread: I think using two eggs and adding milk to the dough would be better. Due to a mistake, I added too many eggs and the dough was too thin, so I didn’t add milk. If the dough is too sticky during kneading, apply some oil. The process can be quite frustrating. There are tricks to making delicious dishes, and I have little tips for each of my recipes.
